This past weekend was graduation for a number of area high schools, including Dollar Bay-Tamarack City and Lake Linden-Hubbell. Karen Anderson Ham shares the top photo of the DBTC Blue Bolts on stage showing the more solemn side of the ceremony. The second photo comes from Gail Ongie of the LLH Lakes throwing their caps in the air in celebration of their graduation! Plenty of joyful smiles in that one!

A few weeks back, Michigan Technological University held their spring graduation ceremonies and posted today’s video of Tech’s newest Alumni sharing their favorite Michigan Tech memory. No surprise many of them listed exploring the Keweenaw as their favorite memory.

Congratulations to all 2019 graduates!

That's a lot of brain power. And how many times did I hear "My favorite memory?...exploring the UP outdoors, Lake Superior, and The Keweenaw"? It's an addiction that they will miss. I know because I'm Jones'n every day.

Great comments except for the guy who pointed out that they had beaten Northern in football every year!

(sad but true..............)

Nice Pics and video!! Brought back similar memories many, many, many, many, many, many years ago from the days in Marquette and the Keweenaw and close friends while attending NMU!

We didn't play Tech back then in hockey, we were affiliated with the CCHA at that time and Tech was in the WCHA. Makes sense to be in the WCHA now.

JBuck, I caught the crack as well, yep, lately we've been their Bi##h! To borrow a Grandpa Normism.. "Let's face facts!!" The program needs help for sure, but our hockey program is on the right track I believe. I think you and I were both at NMU when we had Mooch QB ing the Cats, pretty hard to beat that successful run!!

One last memory of Tech that I just loved.... is at the GLI's when they would give it to U of M fans from the stands, saying.... " That's alright, it's okay, you'll be working for us one day!!"

Alex, you're right, certainly a lot of brain power in those kids, wishing them the best as they venture out into the "real world"!! Take no prisoners kids!!
