The Keweenaw Photo Shop

Photo Album V

This page is devoted to those of you who wish to share your photos of the Copper Country with those who visit this site. If you have a photo or two or three that you would like to share please send electronic copies to me and I will be happy to display them here. If you don't have access to a scanner and would still like to have your photos displayed here just send me a note and we will work it out. It's a good way to get your photos scanned for free and have fun sharing your work with others in the process. Hope to hear from you soon. (Kevin Musser)

Gordy relates:
My aunt took these years ago, she just happened to have the camera in hand and click and here is history. She was mostly a plant and flower photo taker. She was going through her slides tossing stuff and thought of me when she found these and gave them to me. Only one she wanted the original back was of the station. I believe she had copies made or prints made and I believe it hangs in the hall in Gay. She died last spring.
The Photos of Gordy Schmitt

If anyone is familiar with Gay, the train is heading back to Mohawk and is just passing the road that leads to the sand pit.

The depot was the Gay Depot, the original was just as bad for the dark color.

If you look close, the photo was taken after the track was in the process of being ripped up. So must be after 1964 which is when they quit running to Gay, I believe.

This one is of Clint Jones and his Keweenaw Central Number 29. Slide does not say where it was taken but it has a date of August 1968.
