Eric Stewart took us on the hiking trails built up by the monks of the Jampot, near Eagle River, last year, just about at the same time and here we are once again with Eric on the same trails overlooking Jacob's Creek Gorge. This time he's taking us around the pond, where the monks have added a boardwalk and an interesting bridge. There's even a water creature in the pond, ready to great you as you pass on by.
The last photo is a bench that Eric said was further along on the trail. Not just an ordinary bench will do for such a mystical place, but something out of the ordinary for you to sit and take a break, while you contemplate the beauty surrounding you.

The monks certainly have an art & flair to everything they do ~ right down to the beauty of the bridge! Great day to be out walking the trails!

One of the many places in the U.P. where there is enough room for a man to be himself....

Love the bridge with the cross! Is that bench pad what it looks like...a replica of pretzeled bread? Beautiful amazing work!

If you can't do the Mackinac or International Bridge Walks, you can do a mini bridge walk here (lol).

That would be an awfully short walk after a 14+ hour drive, Thomas.;>

Hey now - there is the Portage Lift Bridge walk, if you need something shorter than the two that Thomas mentioned.
