We’re wrapping UP the Christmas week and the year with a final look at some of the lights in the Yoop, from Baraga to Lake Linden. Deb Simons and her hubby, Ron took a drive around to check out the lights and appreciate the great job folks do decorating the outside of their homes. Deb said it best, when she commented that it’s nice to see that the Christmas spirit is alive and well. My favorite is the waterfront shot with the lights reflecting on the ice, but then all the others are winners, too, brightening UP their neighborhoods and bringing joy and brightness to other folk’s Christmas spirit!

And yes, I know Christmas has come and gone, but in our family, we keep it going into the new year, too, so I had to share this fun video from the Space Station Astronauts, as they deliver their Christmas Message for 2024. The lead-in to the video says: “Aboard the International Space Station, NASA astronauts Suni Williams, Nick Hague, Butch Wilmore, and Don Pettit wish a merry Christmas and a happy holiday season to Earth in a message recorded on Dec. 23, 2024. The four astronauts are in the middle of a long-duration mission living and working aboard the microgravity laboratory. The goal of their mission is to advance scientific knowledge and demonstrate new technologies for future human and robotic exploration missions as part of NASA’s Moon and Mars exploration approach, including lunar missions through NASA’s Artemis program.” How unique is that?

I always appreciate the people who put so much time and effort into decorating for all of us to enjoy. Thanks Deb for capturing these beautiful displays and sharing them!

It's hard to pick a favorite, but
the waterfront is wonderful. There
was one that I really liked, but
Mary couldn't get it to fit on the
pasty page. These newer phone/
cameras make it harder on Mary. I
wish I could set my phone to the
dimensions she needs, but I only
know how to snap the pictures,
lol.

These are all so beautiful...the waterfront one is
stunning, as they all are. THANK YOU DEB! You Rock!

And that video is just awesome. I sure hope those
people can get home someday!

And yes..thank you to everyone that does all the
decorating, and pays the electric company. Holy
wha. I hope they give breaks.

Hard to pick a favorite, indeed!
They are all so very eye-pleasing pix.
And Merry Christmas to the astronauts
who have been stuck in space forever.
I wonder how many times they’ve flown
over Michigan? It must be one of the easiest
States to identify…the iconic mitten.

Hi
I like picture #4 best, but they are all wonderful.
It's also so nice to see snow around the lighted
houses. Down here in Jackson we've had plenty of
cold rain.
