I absolutely love this time of year when everyone’s flowers and plants are blooming, decorating their yards and hedges with colors and greenery. Sally Beaudette starts us off with the first three photos of today’s beauties around her Bootjack home. That’s quite an array of colors in her bed of Lilies, from deep orange, to yellow, to variegated purple and white. Stunning! Her second photo is so fun with Petunias popping out all over. If I’m not mistaken that’s a barrel with openings all around it that she plants Petunia starts in sometime in May and by this time of year, they grow and spread to fill in so much that you can no longer see the barrel. She said her hubby made the barrel for her a number of years back and she just refills it each year.

The next three photos are shared by Laurie Bashaw from around her Ishpeming home. I love the variety of different plants she has grouped on her deck in the first photo. It must be soothing to walk out there and see all the color and greenery greeting you. Then she has her border garden filled with more color and a variety of plants that I’m not even going to try to identify...I’ll just “drink” in the beauty without knowing their names. And last, but not least, check out her humongous Hosta. Laurie said it’s the largest it has ever been and she was curious, so she measured and it is four feet across! She’s keeping her fingers crossed that the deer don’t discover it’s there.

We’re making the rounds today, as we join Nick and Andy from MI Playground at the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore for a hike on the scenic 10.5 mile Chapel Loop. They take us by Mosquito Falls, Mosquito Beach, along the famous Pictured Rocks coast of Lake Superior, Chapel Beach, Chapel Rock and Chapel Falls. They figure it has to be one of the best hikes in the world. I’ll take their word for that!

Can't go wrong with pics of beautiful flowers and
a hike/video with Nick and Andy!!

Just and FYI, I have cancelled our trip to the
Keweenaw for this summer's camping trip. I think
it's best for my healing and stress level. We were
due in the Keweenaw on 7/27 and waking up every
day and knowing the healing on my leg is going
slowly, the mind stress of trying to be in the
right shape to travel and knowing I'm not, was
eating me up inside. Marty and I plan to be up in
the Fall around hunting season, also to spread my
father in laws ashes per my mother in law's
request. Vic and I will try to camp locally to get
some use of the new travel trailer. Being closer
to home, also puts my mind at ease. Frustrated and
disappointed yes, but like our good buddy, Alex
told me.... the U.P. isn't going anywhere. lol I
appreciate everyone's thoughts, prayers and well
wishes. The healing is happening, just slower than
I would like.
Have a great weekend All. UC

Stunning flowers, Sally and
Laurie. I bet you guys just love
going outside and just enjoying
the view. I know I miss my MN yard
so much at this time of year.
Enjoy!

So sorry to hear this, UC. God
willing, we'll all be here next
year. Thoughts and prayers for
continued healing.

Excellent set today!
The video is just what I needed.
UC…hang in there and don’t give up hope.
Take it from someone who knows.

I'm of course disappointed we won't be getting to
visit, Uncle Chuck, but am so glad you're making
sure your health is #1. Hopefully you get some
camping in closer to home and get that new camper
and truck broken in! You're in our prayers. Hugs
to you and Vicki.

Unreal flowers...they should be on one of those
"Garden Tours" they do. What incredible beauty!

The hike was awesome....anyone able...please tell
the Good Lord "Thank you"....

And U.C., probably a real good choice for you.
Eliminate the stress and heal much faster! Alex is
so right...."take it from someone who knows!" Just
get well....and haul the thing up when you can. We
ain't going anywhere! The beauty here is always
here. No matter the season....
