Hard to believe, 25 years ago today we concluded the startup year of the Pasty Cam. Long before social media appeared on the scene, folks had a place to go for a daily glimpse of life in the U.P. and share friendly conversation. Along the way someone suggested that we have a memorial each month to honor those with whom we shared a connection in their time on this planet. Today we conclude another month and another year in this tradition. Feel free to add names of those you want to remember.

Rose Marie Bammert
Julie DeHut-Switzer
James Gunnari
Denise Hanks
Elenore Hopf
Edward “Ed” Hulkonen, Sr.
Robert Makolin
Terry Neal
Jeffrey Perreault
James “Jamo” Stetter
Sheryl Ann Trusty
Innocent victims of war in the current conflict,
Servicemen & women and
Frontline workers who have given their all

Special thanks to Dave Dalquist for the McLain State Park sunset to honor today’s memorial.

Have a good week :) …and a great 2024.

Remembering my dad, who passed 15 years ago this
month; my brother, who passed 5 years ago this
month; and my mother-in-law, who passed 6 years
ago this month. Also, a neighbor kid growing up,
Tim Yauch, passed away around Christmas.
Condolences to his brother, Rod. Also, condolences
to everybody who has lost a loved one this month.

Happy New Year's Eve! It's been a wonderful year
spent with my pasty friends. I enjoy your all.
Thank you for sharing your pictures, and your
thoughts, with us. But like Donna, I won't see
midnight. It's been years since I have.

Also remembering my Dad who was
called home on December 25, 2003.
He passed away at home in his bed
which is what he wished. He was
a very religious man and passing
on Christmas morning seemed so
appropriate for a man of his faith.
And he new that his death was near,
but never showed a moment of fear.
I learned one thing at his passing;
If faith does nothing else, it gives one
courage, strength and peace when
taking one’s last breath.

I have special sympathy for friends who have lost loved ones right before the holidays, and Deb, you have had so many! I would struggle for a while to recall the happy memories in the face of all the empty places during the holidays. But Alex, you make a good point. What better place to celebrate the holidays for our loved ones?

I never really saw the point in staying up until midnight and don't think i have since we were all threatened with doom on Y2K! Everything was fine, the lights stayed on, and i called it a night.

Happy New Year, Pasty family!

By Uncle Chuck (Unclechuck) on Sunday, December 31, 2023 - 10:25 pm:

My condolences to those who have lost loved ones.
Absolutely beautiful sunset!!

I'll be up to meet the New Year, watching football,
taking care of Finn & Whit and on my laptop
researching new RV's since we sold our last one when
we got home last summer.

Happy New Year Pasty friends!! May 2024 be a great
one for all of us!! Be safe out there!!
