Beth Jukuri spent a few hours on the beach at McLain State Park last week one day. She said it was cold and fresh and so invigorating. The sunshine she thought, was a bonus and said it made it all quite magical. It was actually her birthday the day she was there, which Beth felt was the perfect way to spend her day. Someone asked if she had taken the plunge in the chilly water, to which Beth replied, “Oh no, although I thought while there, it would be the ultimate cold plunge, but not for me.” I’m right there with you Beth. Lake Superior is cold in the summer, let alone in December chilly temperatures.

Steve Brimm shares a wintry looking video made to highlight the Copper Harbor Cross Country Ski groomer volunteers who keep the XC ski trails looking and feeling good throughout the winters UP there. Steve says: “Come Ski – If we ever get enough snow.” It’s definitely been a strange winter with barely any on the ground and what we have gotten, melted in the warm-up following. I’m sure we’ll get hit with feet of snow any day now.
