Ford River is a small town located about 5 miles south of Escanaba. Karen Anderson Ham and her husband have a place there, which Karen calls her “happy place”. She told me their place is on Lake Michigan, in what is called the Bay of Green Bay. Looking at Karen’s photos from sunrise to sunset and everything in between, I can totally understand why this is her happy place. What a beautiful spot and I bet it’s just as beautiful all year long, through each and every season.

We’re joining Chuck and Poppins, the Restless Viking for the Untold Truth about Mackinac Island... Life on the Island in Winter. This was from a couple years ago, when masks were still being worn. The lead-in to the video says: “In the winter, life on Mackinac Island slows down to a crawl. The only people left are those brave souls who venture out in those low temperatures looking for an adventure and find it at every turn! We take you along with us as we explore some of the great places on the island which will hopefully make your vacation truly memorable whenever you decide to visit. We’ll show you the Forts, Fudge Shops (closed for the winter), Arch Rock - one side is green while other has blue water), which offers breathtaking views no matter where you stand. We pull the curtain back on life on Mackinac Island in the winter.

Ford River before, I’m learning about new places
UP here and this town looks like a gem.
I’d be cruise’s there on the Wing, fur sure.
