I think Deb Simons and her hubby, Ron, must be “bird whisperers”, as they sure have been getting a good variety of bird visitors to their feeders in Lake Linden. Deb told me she loves these Mourning Doves and I have to agree with her...they have that ‘haunting’ cooing sound that lets you know they’re around. She said she showed her mom these pictures and she asked why she never had as many birds as they do, because she just loves birds, too. She told her Mom, you have to feed them for them to come. Makes perfect sense I guess. ;->

For the longest time I thought they were called
Morning Doves because their coo would wake me up in
the morning.
And The Orpheum Theater looks and sounds like a cool
place to hang out.

Lol, Alex. I thought the same thing. They really
do have a haunting sound and I just love them.
We've had a lot of them all summer and they
continue to show up. I live in the house I grew up
in and my mom just doesn't get why she never had
birds like we do. But she sure enjoys all the
pictures I show her.

I'm going to have to pay attention to what's going
on at the Oroheum.

Way cool...that's a bird I never figured out the
male/female bird...they all look the same! They
sure are beautiful and their call is known...you
hear that and you know what you have!
