Jeff Dennis and family traded in their kayaks for a bit bigger boat to tour the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Jeff said they were glad they stopped for the boat tour, since it was so pretty. I’m impressed with the teal colored water and the height of the cliffs along that shoreline. The second to the last photo really gives you that perspective with that tour boat looking quite small compared to the rock cliffs in the background.

The last photo is the Grand Island East Channel Lighthouse which is north of Munising Bay at the southern tip of Grand Island. It was built in 1868, to lead boats from Lake Superior through the channel east of Grand Island, into the Munising Harbor. In the early 2000’s, it was restored and stands now as a reminder of what past sailors used to find safe harbor. The lighthouse actually sits on private property, so viewing it by boat is the only option.

Jeff recorded a short video with some footage of the cliffs while cruising along on the boat tour. It’s the next best thing to being there.

I'm with you Mary, that teal color water is so
clean and so pure, no salt, no sharks!! I've been
there several times now, road our jet skis under
that waterfall in the nineties. Another amazing
place in Michigan! Like Nick & Andy have shown us
many times, if you can't find it in Michigan, does
it really exist!!?? lol

There is a YouTube video of a boat full of guys
who witnessed firsthand, the falling of those
cliffs and they got it on film of a wave coming at
them, it's quite hilarious too!!

correction... rode* typing too fast for me and
tired of running around. Wearing a Heart monitor
that the Cardiovascular Center at U of M put on me
today. My pule rates have been in the 40's and
we're trying to figure out why? But I feel good,
have to wear it for 48 hours. All my yearly heart
exams start mid-September and into October. Hoping
they don't have to crack me again to repair a
valve that is still giving me an issue. "If it
ain't rough, it ain't right"!! I guess lol.....
