Debbie Jarve seems to know just where to go at the Swedetown ponds to see the swans and their cygnets. From her photos here today, I’d say there are three cygnets left and they sure are getting big and quite gray colored. It looks like they have another wildlife friend there near the ponds, too, a healthy looking deer was keeping an eye on what Debbie was doing there.
The bottom photo looks like a sunrise or sunset scene near the ponds. I think that’s purple loosestrife among the grasses there, as it grows well in moist places such as bogs and marshes, so the shores along the Swedetown pond makes for perfect growing conditions. It’s considered an invasive weed that crowds out native species and that can destroy food sources for local wildlife, which won’t eat the loosestrife. At least it’s pretty.
Speaking of wildlife, Stefano Ianiro shares his camera footage from three months on his wildlife homestead. The video is 14 minutes, so get comfy and enjoy the critters and woods his cameras captured.

Hi I like the video. He caught a lot of animals on his trail cam. The fox kits trying to pounce on prey were really cute.

The Swans are so beautiful~ The deer looks pregnant!
Purple Loosestrife is beautiful, but it is an INVASIVE SPECIES~!!!
I LOVE that video! That guy is working hard to make sure the critters and the birds call his place home. That is so stunning! I wish more people were like that!

Beautiful pics and interesting video. I thought the same thing Donna when I looked at that deer. However it's a little late, they typically mate from October to December and give birth from April to July. Hopefully she's healthy.
