When Keith Peterson and his wife, Gail were here in the Copper Country for a visit, they took a hike to the Hungarian Falls to cool off on a hot day. Keith said even though they’ve been visiting the area for years, they only found out about the Hungarian Falls in Tamarack City several years ago and since then, they enjoy the hike to the falls and Gail enjoys a nice dip in the cool water when the temperatures are high. The steep, rocky walls surrounding the falls are pretty impressive, too, with the large boulders and the layers of rock along the top edge. Fortunately you don’t have to scale those walls to reach the water below, there are marked trails on both sides of the “gorge” for unlimited views of the falls from different vantage points along the way, featuring moderate to advanced hiking trails.
I was surprised to see how deep the water is where Gail is standing and even more-so in the video Keith recorded with Gail almost up to her chest in the water. I wonder if she’s ever made it all the way under the falls for a refreshing shower of water?

Beautiful…one and all! I bet Capt. has a field day at this local.

I see what you did there, Alex! And yes, I have in the past...

Nice shots. We've been talking about going up there and have been wondering how the falls would be running. With the rain the past couple of days, it might be good. I'm not as brave as Gail, though. And I love hearing running water like that.

Deb..those falls always have water. It's so beautiful up there. That's the first time I've ever seen anyone in the water there! How wonderful, and I do wonder if she got a shower...take your shampoo and soap!

Boy, does that look like fun. Just visiting the falls--which I've never done--looks interesting. Going for a swim where you could get under a waterfall would be a unique experience.
