By now, most of our Pasty Cam viewers know that Nancy Haun and trains belong together in the same sentence, but today we have a special treat with the help of Nancy’s friend, Mike DesRochers, also from the L’Anse area. He offered to drive his beautiful old truck out of the garage for a winter shot with the Canadian National train on the L’Anse Hill. So Nancy, Mike and Nancy’s hubby, Jim all met up and got in place to wait for the scheduled CN 5404 train to cross by the intersection for some classic shots of these two vehicles together. Note Mike has a Christmas tree in the back of the pickup for a more festive feeling this time of year. The third shot was snapped by Nancy’s husband Jim so you get an idea of the setup...that’s Nancy with her camera on a tripod over on the right in that shot.

The fourth photo is the Canadian National dropping off a couple log cars at the fiber yard in Bovine. Nancy says the weather is brutal when it’s cold like it has been, add in the winds and it’s a tough job for the railroad workers walking and handling the cold metal during maneuvers like this.

Nancy shares today’s video as a compilation for her Christmas greeting to the many followers she has on her YouTube page. It features the CN 5404 Train and Mike DesRochers’ truck and then finishes with the CN 5405 Train and the log cars filled and being transported to their destination. Sit back and get comfy, this one is a little over 12 minutes.

Omgosh, really? You have no idea how much I
love these pictures. I love that little red
truck with the tree in the back. I have a
few decorations with it. Add that awesome
red train and we pretty much have the
perfect picture. So Nancy, thanks for
putting this together. I've had covid since
Christmas night and this brought some joy.
