When Barbara Bouwkamp was heading out to their camp recently, she spotted what she thought was a few chickens on the road and shared her photos with friends, only to find out that they weren’t chickens but turkeys. Barbara chuckled at herself and said she thought they were kind of big for chickens. These are Bourbon Red turkeys, belonging to a farmer along that road. Interesting coloring, as I’m used to the all white turkeys or the dark coloring of the wild turkeys. Someone better teach them road safety, as Barbara said a truck swerved into her lane to avoid them.
Check out this Bourbon Red Tom turkey in today’s video. Andrea Dautrich gets a bit nervous when he starts getting a little aggressive.

What cute pictures. One of the things I miss about our home in Minnesota is the turkeys paying a visit.

That’s one tough Tom. Someone should remind him that
Thanksgiving is just around the corner.
