Last Saturday, the 18th Annual End O’ the Road Keweenaw Tour and Car Show took place. The cars were staged at Campioni True Value parking lot in Calumet, where folks that couldn’t make it to Copper Harbor could check out the entries. Then at 12 pm the Cruise left Calumet, taking US41 to Phoenix, then M26 Lakeshore Cruise to Copper Harbor. Once there, they were directed where to park, lining the main street of Copper Harbor with all other traffic routed around the main street, so only foot traffic was allowed. There was music by Rewind, 50/50 raffles, food and drink concessions and merchandise by Diamond House International. All proceeds of the event benefited Keweenaw Random Acts of Community Kindness, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that assists local community members in need. Mission: “To provide relief for the distressed through random acts of kindness”
Bob Gilreath was there and snapped some photos of a few of the entries to share. Either he or I am partial to Fords it looks like or it could be both of us. This was the first year that my hubby and I made it up to the Harbor to see this part of the event, we normally just went and checked them out in Calumet. It was really well organized and fun to be there in person. If you missed it this year, mark your calendar for next year, July 15, 2023.
It’s not quite full blown Thimbleberry season, but there are a few that are ripening. We join TourDaYoop for a report and some tips for picking them, too.

I especially like the red Impala convertible in the second pic. It's either a '59 or a '60. My second car was a '60 Impala 2-door hardtop with the "bubble" rear window. While sitting in the rear seat, if you looked straight up you'd see sky. Sure wish I had all my old cars back! The best one was a '66 Olds 442.

I will take the VW Bug in a heartbeat! I had two and they went anywhere. And I did test it! lol

I'm not much into old cars cuz I lived a lot of them lol. My hubby loves them. There really are some nice ones, though. I think he'd like the mustang but I prefer the Bronco. Very cool.
We were picking thimbleberries yesterday. We just want enough for some jam to last the year. Those things are like gold here. Sheesh!

We saw them coming back from Copper Harbor when we arrived in Calumet last Saturday. Wished I could have had my ride up here to join in....
