We’ve featured Chris Hendra’s outstanding bird photos here on the Pasty Cam before, but today’s first shot from him is an award winning photo of a Song Sparrow. Chris won the 2022 Michigan Audubon Photography Award with this stunning capture! It will appear as the cover photo for the Michigan Audubon member magazine, the Jack Pine Warbler. In addition to that honor, Chris will get to take over their Instagram page for a week to feature his work and share stories about his photographs. Congratulations, Chris!

The rest of his photos here today are just as award winning in my opinion. They all have superior clarity and detail. Chris said, “I have always loved being outdoors and spend the bulk of my free time pursuing Upper Michigan wildlife with my camera. I especially enjoy photographing birds in their natural habitat.” You can certainly tell that he loves what he does. To see more of Chris’ work, click here: Chris Hendra Photography

Bob Gilreath usually has a number of birds visiting his feeding station, but the day he made this video, he had a new visitor, not at his feeders, but walking down the street near his home. Bob said he doesn’t know where it came from, but it was strolling down the street like he owned it.

What a fantastic set of pix! And when the goose is on the loose,

who ya gonna call? Goose Busters!

I'm with Alex. I've scrolled up and down
a few times looking at them. We had the
chipping sparrow here yesterday. It
looked like a redstart, but they're
winter birds here so I thought it had to
be some kind of sparrow. So thanks for
clearing that up. I agree with Mary in
that they are all award winning shots.
Spectacular and thanks for sharing these
with us, even that frog is a great
picture. And I almost didn't even see
the hummingbird. We haven't put our
feeders out because they draws the darn
bears.
Thanks for the best morning wake up.
