When visiting the Copper Harbor area, it’s practically a must to make the drive to the top of Brockway Mountain. The views all around you UP there are outstanding and so worth the short drive. My cousin Karen Marsh and her hubby were here recently and drove to the top of Brockway, which by the way is the highest above sea-level drive between the Rockies and the Alleghenies. It is also an official Michigan Wildlife Viewing Area, where the annual migration of birds-of-prey count is done from mid-April to mid-June. It feels like you can see forever when you’re standing atop this mountain and in all directions around you.
The Brockway Mountain Drone Footage video here today, gives you a great perspective of the steep cliffs and the expansive view you experience UP there. If you haven’t ever been there, make sure you put it on your bucket list!

Great pics & video! Can't wait to get back to Brockway. Vic is looking forward to trying to see the Northern Lights from there in the middle of the night!

Remember the old store that used to be on Brockway?? I loved that little place. I worked in the Harbor one year...broke trail to Brockway with my Volkswagon! That lil car went anywhere! lol. Watched Eagles kettling there too. Wha...that was so incredible. They go in at the bottom of an air current. The colder air goes up in a circle...so they get in, and ride up without flapping a wing. Then the get spit out at the top, and fly back down to get in again. It's like a Carnival ride to them! They do know how to have some fun!

Yes, sure do remember the store Donna! But don't remember why they made them take it down. What was the story?

I went up there with a boyfriend in high school and he bought me an agate ring. It was very pretty. Have stopped there many times when up on the mountain. I can't recall exactly when it wasn't open for business anymore. But it's there in my memories.
Nice pictures.
