Looking at today’s pictures from Nancy Haun, you can tell she enjoys photographing deer and trains. Her first shot was snapped in her backyard, of the deer that visit there daily. Who needs television for entertainment when you have real live critters to watch right in your own backyard. There’s even a little buck in the mix over on the right side of the photo.

Nancy’s second photo was snapped on the L’Anse hill. Check out the deer running across the tracks, right in front of the Canadian National. She said one of them even decided to run alongside the train for a bit. Nancy also said that she has seen these crazy deer in this location before and they always get across with no problem, but she wonders why they wait so long?

You can see these deer in action in the video Nancy made of the train coming up L’Anse Hill, she was in the right place at the right time and caught them dashing across the tracks right in front of the train. Daring deer!

stow away in one of those boxcar's, do they have a
fireplace or fire pit on board?? Ok... maybe a space
heater?? :-))

Great pictures of the train and deer. Very picturesque with the snow. Those deer may get away with running out in front of the train when it's climbing the hill but if they try that on the flat they will be venison burger!! Why do they wait until the train is upon them before they run across? Inquiring minds want to know!

Hi Jbuck, Happy New Year. The deer play chicken with the trains for the same reason that a squirrel will run three-quarters of the way across the road in front of your car, change their mind, and run in front of your car again on their way back to where they started. But as for why they do this . . . I dunno either!

Hey George L. (Yooperinct), they just like messin' with humans who throw on the brakes not to squish them! Tho it doesn't always work out that way.........
