Looks like a perfect kayaking day for Cathy McKenzie and friend to paddle the shores of Lake Superior. They headed out from Bete Grise, paddling right past Bare Bluff in the first photo, where we visited from the top of yesterday. Cathy said this picture doesn’t do justice to how high the Bluff seemed from the water level. She said they were in awe of how awesome it was.
The rest of the adventure was quite enjoyable, seeing Smith Fisheries was another highlight, where they turned around to head back, making it an 8 mile paddle. Along with the clear waters of Lake Superior, paddling through a natural arch and next to rock formations jutting out of the Lake in places were unique experiences. Seeing all this from the water level is a whole different perspective of the Keweenaw.
We’re heading to Isle Royale with Steve Brimm from Steve Brimm Photography, for 28 hours in 28 seconds – both ends of Isle Royale and back to deploy two spotter weather buoys.

U.C,
Hot here too in northern Illinois. Are you going back UP this year. My trailer is now in my driveway as I make modifications and do provisioning. I'm planing my trip, both dates and camping locations are still flexible.
