That’s right, the only motorized way to the top of Brockway Mountain in Copper Harbor in the winter months, is by snowmobile. Of course you could ski or snowshoe to the top, also, but I think that would be quite a hike uphill. Jeff Dennis and his wife Chris took a ride up there recently on their 1997 Polaris Indy Lite Touring snowmobile and enjoyed some beautiful views along the way. They started out with the view of Copper Harbor from the Brockway Mountain Lookout. The Harbor is mostly frozen and Fanny Hooe is all ice, too. The views of Lake Superior from the top were outstanding, too and shows what the ice cover looked like from that elevation.

Thanks to Jeff’s GoPro9, we get to ride along with him. Jeff and Chris took their time on the ride, no high speeds for them, they pull over and let other groups of riders pass. I agree that’s the way I’d like to ride, too, so you can see more of the scenery along the way. Enjoy the tour!

Greetings:

Great photos.

Just a wavelength comment.

Intense blue. A blue filter on the camera might give a sharper contrast. Note the shadow(s) the trees make on the white snow.

The clear, bright sunny days in the Keweenaw have always had an intense color problem for any camera. Intense blue (PM) and pink (AM), if I recall correctly.

Yeah, how dey do dat? A GoPro Steadicam?

And what strange "music" On Top of Old Smoky … er, Brockway, someone banging on an ol' tin bucket with a wooden spoon?

Then at 8:58-9:20 we have the "Bulova Watch Company" … "Pull ovah and watch" the other sleds go down the road.
