Barbara Bouwkamp decided to take a ride last week to check out the Phoenix Church all lit up for the Christmas Holiday and along the way, she stopped at the Keweenaw Snow Thermometer, as she said she had never visited it at night. She said it was about 7:00 p.m. and pretty dark, but check out the thermometer glowing like it’s lit UP! I’m not sure if it was just from Barbara’s headlights or what the story is, as she said it didn’t seem to be lit, but it sure was illuminated. Interesting…
After the Thermometer stop, she headed to her original destination, the Phoenix Church or the Historic, Church of the Assumption. Sure is pretty this time of year with the lights in the windows and the trees all lit up, too. I’m glad Barbara took this little adventure drive, otherwise, we’d have never seen the lights.
Speaking of Thermometers and measuring snow, I found today’s YouTube video from the Weather Channel, when Mike Seidel talked with Matt Zika from the National Weather Service in Negaunee. Pretty neat.

Beautiful church. I wonder if they still hold Mass there? The thermometer was probably lit up by headlights and the phone or camera flash.

Nice set, but the video was unavailable so I watched "How to Boil Water" instead. :-O
