Sorry for the delayed Pasty Cam on the 29th.

Technical difficulties behind the scenes.

We’re still in the company of photographer, George C. Bailey today. Only it’s two days later and you get a good look at the thick, icy coating a storm with whipping winds and blowing snow leaves behind. This is one of George’s favorite top 10 rock formations on the north shore of the Keweenaw Peninsula, overlooking Lake Superior near Eagle Harbor, MI. It’s a dandy rock without the icy coating, just for the fact that a tree can be growing on it, with little to no foothold to spread its roots in and anchor itself to the rock. But after being wind blown and buffeted by snow and crashing waves, it takes on a shine and glimmer, covered in ice. Take a closer look, though and you’ll see the bright orange lichen still peeking out from under the ice coat nature put on the formation.

George’s video here today, is another from the actual storm. It was so impressive with the wind and snow, an additional look at the storm was in order. Once again, if you want to hear the sounds, as well as see the sights, turn up your speakers and hold on to your hat!

Charlie,

You owe us all a pasty! I'll take mine regular.
j/k

I really hope you and everyone had a greatly increased sense of happiness and maybe even some joy with a bit of gratefulness added in this Christmas season...and a happier New Year.

WOW-WOW-WOW!

Congratulations, to George for enduring that storm to create the video but his eye catching photos are amazing. But please, is anyone else seeing strange images in all that ice and those sickles?

We are just now, at this very moment experiencing a similar ice freeze but its import lies in the fact that it's total surrounded my car, truck AND house. For that matter it's covered the whole city and statewide beyond with a thick icy layer. I'm listening to sleet hit the roof, landing on several inches of new stuff from our first real storm this winter. Well, at least my power is still on so I was able to write this post.
