Over the weekend, Nora Dee and family were out at White City, near Jacobsville, enjoying the beach. Nora snapped the first photo when there was what looked like a “traffic jam” near the pier. I count three sailboats and a huge barge there. Then in the next photo, even a seaplane made an appearance. Nora said they waved and the pilot “waved” the wings of the plane at them as it flew over the beach. When I saw this photo with the barge, I was curious as to what it was and where it was going. It didn’t take long to find another photo, this one taken by Barbara Bouwkamp at Big Traverse, where the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers barge was pulling in and turns out it is a dredge to help with the stamp sand removal project there.
No action shots of the dredge, unfortunately, but we do have a video that gives you a good look at the Jacobsville Light and pier there at the South Entry, published by Tiger Holm in 2013.

WOW.....That video was nice, but, I was getting sea-sick, or should I say 'see-sick,' and had to turn it off. What I managed to watch was nice though.
Also love the photos.
