Danielle Adams keeps an eye on the comings and goings of the freighter traffic in Marquette Harbor and gets to the Ore Dock to snap a few pictures when she can. She captured these shots this past Sunday, while the Michipicoten was in town to pick up ore for transport. I like the small wave and water droplets Danielle captured with the boat, too. Note the lighter gray paint around the bow to compare that to the video.

The video was published by Boat watching in the Soo is the Michipicoten entering the MacArther Lock at the Soo. The bow of the Michipicoten was looking a little rusty at the time, so they must have given her a fresh coat of paint to cover that since then.

I like those Great Lakes freighters with the pilothouse at the bow.

Yes, the old girl certainly was getting to be quite the rust bucket. It looks like she’s been to the paint shop since, with a further cheapskate touch-up with a few spray cans of a lighter color. Strange.
