Tomorrow's Pasty Cam will be our end of the month memorial.

Last night's meeting at the Little Gem Theatre was a very enjoyable evening meeting a number of folks who have followed the progress of Pasty Central over the years. Several of the websites we host were represented there as well, including the Jampot, Keweenaw Industrial Council, CollageHapnin, the E-Center, the Little Gem, Monte Consulting, and JohnDee.com.

This looks like Forest Hill Cemetery, up the hill from the Tech campus. I have great grandparents buried here. My grandparents were copper miners; I was a Tech student, always dream of returning permanently. The picture may be a little gloomy, but it is perfect for Halloween. :)

Maggie,It is going to be chilly in the Chatt. area for the Trick or Treaters!! This cooler weather makes it seem more like Halloween to me.The picture of Forrest Hill is pretty. Those old oaks are beautiful. Our family is buried there.

I think "upper campus cemetery" is pretty funny... Fitting that there is a cemetery right next to campus, especially during midterm season. Thanks for the beautiful picture though!

Great photo! Cemetaries are some of my favorite places. I love to wander through looking at all the old gravestones. I've never been to this cemetary but it looks like a relly nice one...

What about that really old cemetary, uh, I believe it was in Eagle Harbor. My husband and I stumbled upon it during our adventures of the Keweenaw last May. It was interesting because of the age of the graves and the ornate wrought iron fencing around each family site. It was surrounded and kind of overgrown with pines, which to some people would make it kind of creepy, but we found it peaceful. Does anyone know what this cemetary is called or any history about it? Thank you, maybe one of the Pasty cam-ists could get a few photos of this interesting spot, as it is that haunting time of year!

Jeff And Michele, I spent many weekends in Eagle Harbor. I believe it is called the Evergreen cementary but I will check on it, I will do some searching on its history

The Evergreen is at Eagle River, but the larger, more secluded cemetary is at Eagle Harbor. Both have appeared on the Pasty Cam sometime in the past 5 years.

I, too, am a fan of cemeteries. My cousin JoAnne, who has posted pics on the Pasty Cam in the past, sent me this photo of Lakeview Cemetery from this past summer. It means a lot to me because my uncle David Siira, a Kearsarge native, is one of the soldiers buried in the first row. He died in the Korean War at the young age of 18.

I think the cemetery is Eagle Harbor is the Pine Grove Cemetery.

I too frequent the Lakeview Cemetary just outside of Calumet when I vacation in the U.P. each summer. I have a funny story about it; a few years ago when there, I inquired about the availability of burial plots at the Lakeview where I have several relatives buried. By the time I saw my Aunt and Uncle the next day, the news of my inquiry had actually gotten back to them through the local gossip, and left them wondering what was up. I guess everyone really does know everyone in a small town.
