...Sailors take warning.

Here we've been looking for color in the trees (just about reached the peak here in the U.P.) and some of the most magnificent color is above the treetops. Thanks R.C. for distilling some of it for the Pasty Cam.

Speaking of sailors... Al Kempke recently sent this shot, taken between Dollar Bay and Chassell.

Awesome picture! Nobody paints it better than the "Man" himself. A prime example of why it is referred to as "God's Country" up here in the Upper Peninsula.

Brought friends from New Berlin up to Three Lakes to show them the color in the U.P. over the weekend. Even got to see about 1 1/2 inchs of the White color Sunday morning. Beeee ute tee full.

okay you finnish speaking people, will you translate for those of us who grew up with the spoken language, but never received translation to know how to speak or read for our own understanding. More directly, what does "kaunis kokko" mean? I know kiitos and voi kauhea, but not the first. Thanks whoever answers.

'kokko' means bonfire, 'kaunis' means beautiful or fine. So, Ken said, "Talk about a beautiful bonfire!" Sort of in Finnglish, you might say.
