Taka Aoki takes us Copper Country cruisin' again with a quick run up to Hungarian Falls, about a mile west of Hubbell. According to Michele's World, the lower falls (photo above) is a 50 foot drop, while the upper is only 25:

Isn't it just wonderful!
I would think MTU has to be a great
place to go to school and be so close
to diversions like the Water Falls.

Thanks for bringing back the memories. I was there once, many years ago, and it was no easy stroll! Great pictures, great memories.

While growing up in Hubbell we swam and fished at the lower falls in the pond that was known as the "Bluff". Thanks for the great shots taken around the U. P. by your staff.

Can somebody please tell me how to post an image for pasty-cam.

By Charlie at Pasty Central on Saturday, September 14, 2002 - 05:43 pm:

Edward,

We welcome guest pictures, sent as email attachments (compressed .bmp or JPEG's) to photos@pasty.com. We can't guarantee that every emailed picture will appear on the Pasty Cam, but we present as many as we can. Be sure to include a little information about the subject of the picture, and your name so we can give you the credit for the photo.

haha. Could someone hire me as a cameraman? Then I will get out of Tech right away, and will spend more time for pasty :)

Taka-san,

Great photos! You really captured the feeling of Hungarian falls.
I like how you added a person at the bottom of the falls to properly show the scale.

It makes me wnat to go there right now! Too bad I am all the way over here in Japan.

A good reminder to me to take a trip home soon so I can soak up some of that Copper Country beauty.

AT LAST!!! The 'Papa' falls, How do you say "Kiitos oikean paljon!" in Japanese? Hey, Taka, Thank you. I love these falls. Many years ago, in the spring, I dropped a transistor radio from the top. Went down to the bottom couple times but never found it.
