I think the tall glass building up the street is the D&N building, and across the street Suomi College. Have these both changed thier names?

Sure wish we could be there for the festivities! The band looks sharp! Would like to hear them. Have fond (?!?) memories of marching in 85 deg., rainy weather with the old heavy wool uniforms on a trip to troll-land. Hope these are a bit more comfy. Of course, for the football games at home, marching in the mud in 40 deg. rainy weather with the October winds cutting across the hill made the wool worthwhile. Then there were the Tech homecoming parades. Do the highschools march in those anymore? We used to get sprayed with beer. Couldn't even wear our plumes. Beer soaked wool - mmmm we smelled good when we got home! AAAAhh, the good ole' days!

D&N is Republic Bank now, and Suomi College is now Finlandia University.

No better BBQ chicken has ever been served up than at the annual BJVFD Chicken BBQ. It was always the hi-lite of the summer in Bootjack. I can still see Fritz, Edmund, Paul and Ruben flipping over those long grills covered with chickens... What great memories

i used to wash the outside windows of the old D&N Bank using their scafforld, good vantage point for watching the parade, funny how i would arrange my schedule so i would have to clean the side that faced quicny st when the parade was going on
