The Stars and Stripes welcome you to the Ottawa Visitor Center at the junction of US-2 and US-45 near Watersmeet. A nice stop on your way up to the Copper Country for Bridgfest this weekend.

The Ottawa Interpretive Association has an online tour of this mini-museum. There's also a well marked nature trail for a short stroll.

Happy Flag Day :o)

We have pleasant memories of this place, with a little tailgate picnic in the parking lot before continuing north.
Looks like they just mowed the grass. Smells alot like fresh watermelon.

Not if you're allergic to freshly cut grass.

Do you suppose Toivo's map machine broke down? Haven't seen one from him all week.

Update on the Visitor Center. Someone recently broke in at night and stole a 16-foot birch bark canoe. Idiots!
