Would you please stopp putting these photos on the web. They are making me even more determined to someday return to life in the Copper Country.

Great Shot; really captures the essence of the Copper Country. Looks exactly like it was when I was but a boy growing up in Laurium. Clean, pure and beautiful. Obviously, "someplace special".

Jealous folks? The air is so clean, it almost hurts to breathe it! Spring MIGHT come here soon. That sun is feeling a whole lot warmer when it shines than it did a month ago...good thing too, cause cabin fever is really hitting us Yoopers right about now....

We just moved away in December, and are coming up for a week pretty soon here. I can't wait! I can't wait! Clean, fresh, air, great scenery, and most of all great people!

I was once told that the top of Mt. Lookout (we always called it Mt. Baldy as kids) is a true alpine eco-system (the only one in the Midwest). In winter you can see a distinct line where the trees change from the usual mix of evergreen and hardwood, to a single type of oak. I was also told this oak had evolved into its own species, so that if you grew one off of the mountain, it would only grow to the height of those on the mountain (about 6-12 ft). I know da U.P. has some unique species, but can anyone confirm or debunk this? Also, in the summer, can you still drive to the spot where the picture above was taken?
