With all the snow sculpture and snow houses in the Keweenaw this winter, some of the best artwork is still right along the shoreline, untouched by human hands.

What makes this picture even more interesting is that Sue Haralson took it over by Big Traverse with a low resolution digital camera. Many of the majestic shots on the Pasty Cam were taken with super-duper mega pixel rigs having all the bells and whistles, but this view shows what can be done with even a modest camera. Good work Sue!

If Spring is on the way, my fingers are surely too cold to feel it.

Some of the best pictures I've ever seen were taken with a Brownie, Charlie (remember those?). It's not the gear, it's tne eye behind the camera that really counts. Now, that picture LOOKS cold!

Good Job MOM! :-)
But I wouldn't mind seeing this same spot with sun shining down on it and the kids in their swim suits!!! Someday....

Big Traverse Bay is a beautiful place to be in the summer time, but man alive it sure looks nice in the winter too!

MAKES ME MISS HOME

The best sculptures are still made only by God himself. To paraphrase,

"Photos are took by fools like me
But only God can make a tree" (and the snow drift in front of it).

Looks almost like meringue on a Baked Alaska.

Hi All,
This web site is fantastic. I was stationed at
the Radar Base at Calumet from 1968-1970. I have
been back 4 times since then to visit and fish.
I did not know this was available. It is very nice to be able to visit once again. The last time we were there was 1990. My wife Norma
simply fell in love with the area.

God Bless You All
Bill&Norma
