Well, the TODAY SHOW didn't make it to the U.P. over the weekend... That was the rumor last Friday, as reported by the Daily Mining Gazette (see last week's Pasty Cam). But for those of us who did spend the weekend here, a lovely time it was. My wife and I took a drive along one of our favorite stretches of highway, Dune Drive between Eagle River and Eagle Harbor. We watched a glorius sunset at Great Sand Bay before winding our way back home.

Another outstanding belt of shoreline is that region near Marquette and Munising, and we have Bruce Eddy to thank again for a glimpse of current conditions there. Keep those Pasty Cam shots coming our way!

Wow! what a great winter picture. Bruce, you sure take some nice photos. My wife and I enjoy them very much. Keep on clicking and we'll keep on enjoying.

Wow! Great Picture Bruce! Is that the old lighthouse on Grand Island as you head out of Munising Harbor towards Pictured Rocks in the background? If it is I think that would mean that you were facing west and standing somewhere along the shoreline near the headquarters to Pictured Rocks Lakeshore... I sure miss that place! Thanks for sending us a reminder of how beautiful that country is.

Looks like the Old Light House on Grand Island, probably taken from Sand Point.

That definitely is along Sand Point Rd. near the Park headquarters. Discovered this place a couple of years ago while staying at the Yule Log Resort Memorial Day week. Have been going back up every year at the end of May and take a daily ride along Sand Point Rd. and walking the beautiful beach with all the drift wood imaginable.

Of course, the first two weeks in September is always reserved for Eagle Harbor and enjoying my beloved Keweenaw.

Carole,

Did you take the picture a couple of years ago that appeared in one of the earlier Pasty Cam calendars? I seem to recall a shot taken along here, but incorrectly labeled as being from the Copper Country.

By Carole on Tuesday, February 19, 2002 - 06:25 pm:

Charlie,

Sorry, but I have never submitted a picture to the Pasty Cam. But if anyone is ever up in Munising, a ride down Sand Point Rd. is a must. When we are there, we have the beach to ourselves to enjoy nature at its best.

When I lived downstate and would come up here for vactions I would see this exact same scenery and knew I was close to home. Thanks for bringing me down memory lane. I now live back up here permanently and I am glad to be back.

Hey, Bruce! Hope you are having a great time running around taking pictures of stuff. How 'bout giving Roland the car you stole from him back? How 'bout paying the Tabors for those tires you did not pay for?
