In the Courthouse at Eagle River
Keweenaw County Courthouse, Eagle River

We get lots of requests for various sights in the Copper Country... This one is from inside the Keweenaw County Courthouse. It's a drawing to break a tie which resulted from last week's election. The man on the left is Gary Barker, running for Grant Township trustee, and the candidate who won the tie-breaker. Gary recently wrote a guest editorial in Keeenaw Today, the area's new interactive newspaper. The lady on the right is Marilyn Winquist, Keweenaw County Clerk. Love that scroll work in the plaster, and the old vault where historic documents are stored.

Of course, in the last 3 years of the Pasty Cam we've had shots outside the courthouse. One of my favorites is Mike Lothamer and Eric Bastion in their pasty shirts (9/2/98):

Toivo and Eino
...and I should mention the picture of the election runoff was taken yesterday afternoon by Mandy Utech, who herself has appeared on the Pasty Cam, sharing a little summer refreshment at the Wal-Mart in Houghton. Thanks, Mandy!

Hi, Having visited the Keewa about ninety times since 1954 I must tell you that I love your excellent website. (Also your pasties).

Being a serious amateur photographer I would like to know if your great pix are taken with a digital or film camera? I use both.

Again, I believe you have the best website I have seen. Try my artist daughter's. It is:
