Number 20 breaks into the open, on her way to scoring the go-ahead goal this afternoon against the MTU girls hockey team. That's my daughter Becky... and she did score - to make it 4-3 in favor of her Center Ice team, with only a minute remaining. But those Huskies scrambled back to tie it up at the finish. A very entertaining game.
If you have been away from the Copper Country for a while, you still may recognize a few of the sponsors names along the boards: Baroni's, the Goal Post in Lake Linden, the Medicine Shoppe...
By the way, Becky's wedding date has been moved up to December 27. Whoa ! That's little more than a month away. Your webmaster is beginning to get nervous. Her fiance, Bryan Howard, is himself quite accomplished in hockey - player, referee, coach.
Another side note: as I have been typing this note, we've been listening to the Copper Island Classic on the radio... and Brad Howard, Bryan's brother (Becky's future brother-in-law) just scored for Hancock, tying the series.
A cliff-hanger hockey day here in the Keweenaw.

P.S. News Flash... Calumet went on to win tonight's game 5-3, which gives them the Copper Island Classic trophy this year.
