Clarence Monette has a good book, which is now probably out of print, entitled "Clifton and the Cliff Mine". An interesting overview (as are all of Mr. Monette's books) which deals with this very spot.

Wonder if there would be any interest among regular Pasty Cam visitors for us to publish any of the Clarence Monette books on the web? Maybe a project for 2001?

As always, Jonathan Hopper captures the feel of the Keweenaw, in this view of the renewal cycle of the Tamaracks in contrast to the Evergreens.

I think publishing the books would be a great idea...a sort of Yooper Book Club?

I've been in our big book stores down here looking for anything related to the Keewenaw and/or UP and haven't had much luck.
(except for the Nick Adams Stories)

I'm interested in the Clarence Monette books on the web. I have the one concerning Cliffton and a few others. I beleve there are about forty in the series. And would like the complete set.
If that cliff could only talk the stories it would tell!!!!!

Thanks for the picture of the tamaracks. They are one of my favorite trees, and I know they shed their needles, but I have never before seen them turning gold or bare.
I would certainly be interested in having the Monette books online.

Great to see the UP for me! Beautiful photos and
wonderful memories. Great job! I would enjoy reading about the UP and any of its history. Sounds great for 2001.
