Last Friday the view down the main street in Hancock drew a lot of responses from folks who visit or grew up here. This shot is one block back from the previous, in fact you can distinguish the roof line of one building down on the right of the street, but slightly left of center near the bottom (on the shot above). Have any ideas which building this is?

The sky really was that red. In fact when I saw the blazing sky through my living room window, I ran outside with my camera and walked around the block taking pictures of the western sky until I stumbled upon this view of downtown Hancock. No, I didn't use any filters, just my trusty Nikon 990 digital camera.

I hate to admit my age, but I do remember when Quincy St was a 2 way street. That was back when the D&N building was next to the "dime" store and Superior bank was kaddy corner to the current Hancock Hardware location. Great picture! Wish I was there to see it!

And Hancock Hardware was the Scott Hotel. Whew! Must be getting old! How about the Kerredge(sp?)Theater next to the hotel?

My Mom and Dad, Ed and Noreen Haggerty, used to live on Pontiac Road.; this is a perfect example of some of the glorious sunsets you enjoy.

I remember going to the "Coffee Cup" for some fries and a coke. The "Teen Center" was a great place on a Friday or Saturday night. And during sidewalk sales, they would have pony rides for 25 cents down in front of the old Scott Hotel. Memories of the good ole days. They really were!!! Playing "kick the can" on Franklin St. and staying out till it was dark. What a way to grow up!!!!!
