Isle Royale rocks !

A little extra today on the Pasty Cam... more shots from Isle Royale by Jon Hopper, who is no stranger to the Island's rugged beauty. This year as guests of Mr. And Mrs. Gary Ewart of Traprock Valley, Jon and his friend James Hackman from Illinois returned to capture more of the sights. If you're a longtime Cam Watcher, you may recall the moose spotted on their last trip.

Mama moose
We'd love to hear of your visit to Isle Royale.

My husband and I and my in-laws spent a week on Isle Royale in May 1999. After a very rough boat ride we fell in love with the island and everything there. Thank you so much for bringing us these great pictures. Keep up the good work!

Wife and in-laws were canoeing at Isle Royale. Pa-in-law mentioned that there were ducks swimming across the lake. Sis-in-law looked, stared, wondered why ducks were swimming backwards, then deduced it was actually a moose.

My husband and I spent part of our honeymoon backpacking on Isle Royale 21 years ago. We would love to go again, this time with kayaks or canoes. Thanks for the pictures!

Jon where he is most at home. Truly appropriate and brings a smile.

After many trips to Isle Royale I still get excited when the Ranger III heads up Rock Harbor and the smell of balsam fir and cold Lake Superior greet us.
