Kind of sad that it has come to this. Of course, I'm sure there are some up there that are glad to see the snow holding off. However, snow is an industry up there...

I never thought I would see the day that, in DECEMBER, you guys have to "make snow" up there. Is the World coming to an end or something? Must make ya' kinda nervous about what's ganna happen when it DOES start to come!

Whoa, this is crazy, no snow in December, is like no bugs in June, its just something that is expected.

Just sitting here listening to Da Yoopers CD and thought I would send a note.
I remember back in the late 60's or early 70's when we were waiting for snow for the snowmobile races. Well it was 3 days before the races and WMPL played the Heiki Lunta snow dance song. (my fin spelling?) It started to snow and snow. The snow was coming down so heavy with a little wind and the races were canciled anyway. You think that song will work again?

I have seen some snow here in Mohawk...mighta wasted some snow..eh

Let's not get carried away. It's not the first time the UP's made it this late into December w/o
snow. It's certainly not expected but not unheard of either. You'll be seeing plenty of snow soon enough.

Hei Hei, Ernie WA, Your Heiki Lunta spelling is right on I think, but canciled...? :o) I remember a few years ago here in Cornell, no snow
until in January but way below zero. But like Tony says, we'll get ours sooner or later.

Well, I'm a Michigander that lives overseas in Okinawa Japan because my husband is a Marine and I would be happy to see any snow at this point. We have been here going on three years and I really miss the cold and snow. Be happy because at least you all will have snow eventually. Once a Michigander always a Michigander!

My daughter in Park City, Utah tells me that on Thanksgiving morning they had no snow on the ground in the town. Then it started to snow very heavily and they got 107 inches in 107 hours. The Olympic people were happy. Perhaps the same could happen to the Keweenaw. :)

Well, I must say . . . I was told by my Mom that 1931 was considered pretty sparse in the snow department. She was living in Beacon Hill and expecting her 3rd child. This was November! and, guess what? No snow yet. Baby's birthday was ll/l/31 - She stayed the rest of the winter and said they had virtually NO snow. Anyone remember that year?

Myself, I am tinkking dey are nuts for makin dat stuff, when you know...darn good and well, dat Ma Nature is gonna slap us upside da head sooner or later...and if it's later...it's gonna be a real whallop to make up for da lost time!

It's been a very cold,wet December in northern CA so far and Tahoe skiing is approaching superb. Maybe we could export some snowballs to youse guys like WC at da Tech. GO HUSKIES at the GLI!
