We're in that "in-between time" when the leaves have all fallen and the snow hasn't (yet). I was surprised to notice some new facilities here in the Keweenaw. Of course, the inquisitive Pasty Cam just had to snap a few shots.

If we backed up about 20 feet, what do you suppose we would see?

By eric on Monday, November 12, 2001 - 10:51 pm:

the snow depth sign

By dps on Monday, November 12, 2001 - 10:58 pm:

Is that one of them thar solar-powered outhouses?

By Tim in Oscoda on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 - 12:18 am:

My Uncle in Menominee used to joke that our Troll rest areas had built in pools! For some reason this shot reminded me of that!

By Ken from da UP on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 - 12:25 am:

Makes me want to go 'rest'. :o) Don't know where it is, Charlie.

By Alice, Ventura, CA on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 - 12:46 am:

Just look at the crispness of the photo, the sky, the trees. A few leaves left on the trees, but you can almost hear the crunch of the leaves beneath your feet as you walk this path. Wonderful picture!

Snowfall Sign outside of Phoenix.

From down under...True this is not as elegant and spacious as us Trolls are use too, but there is a serene, relaxing feeling I have when I contemplate this picture.Thank you Pasty Cam !

By Dee in IL on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 - 06:54 am:

for years now, whenever we travel, the family joke is to photo someone leaving a similar facility... started back before I was born...
Some people have heirlooms, we have tradition... wonder how it all started.... hmmmmmm.....thanks for the reminder of my rich American heritage!

Wherever it is--it's "off limits" with the red flagging tape across the path. Darn!

By Sharon on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 - 10:15 am:

Either Ken is right or it's the town park in Eagle River.

By T, UP on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 - 10:42 am:

Hey dere. If we backed up 20 feet.... I betcha we'd see smaller facilities and more trees.

By 100%yooper on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 - 11:14 am:

Hebard park, 20 feet, youse guys would be hit by a tourist on M26, and thrown into da lake.

By Former Yooper, Mi on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 - 11:23 am:

I also think it is by the snow thermometer by Phoenix...

Haven't a clue. But do you see what I see. Check out birch tree in center. Is that a troll looking out dreaming of never being found so he won't have to go home. :) Also, first tree left of black one - do you see little faces like on a totem pole. Please say yes! It's been a long day!

By Jesmine,U-of-M on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 - 06:02 pm:

By Jan, Bootjack on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 - 10:30 pm:

Yes Mary I too see the faces in the grey tree bark to left. I think it is by the snow depth sign in the Keweenaw also.

By julie, Notre Dame IN on Wednesday, November 14, 2001 - 08:44 am:

Is this Earl Brogan's outhouse that I have been hearing so much about????? Where is the stain glass window??????

By Granny, Southern Yooper on Wednesday, November 14, 2001 - 08:47 am:

Hi Mary/Wisconsin,
Is this imagination or what? I see faces in the darndest places. Look at the border of Wisconsin/Minnesota and see an Indian Chief, on "our" side going over the interstate bridge, the "Welcome to Wisconsin" sign has the Green Bay painted blue and it is Uncle Sam. Now go over to the west side of Minnesota and see Dilbert in the boundary lines with the Dakotas.
