The Tech hockey women invaded Grand Forks, North Dakota today, but were turned back in the first game of a double header this weekend. A very exciting and entertaining athletic contest for those of us in the stands of the new Ralph Engelstad Arena.

As a side note, back in 1998 North Dakota was the last of the 50 states to appear on the order map of Pasty Central. For a long time the standing joke was that our pasties have been shipped to all 50 states - except North Dakota. That was almost four years ago. Today we send a steady flow of pasties to regular customers, including folks in the top Dakota.

Hey, this is a cool shot! Interesting to me, as I grew up in the UP, and my wife grew up in North Dakota!

I'm a student here at Tech, but I'm from Fargo originally. When I was younger, I made regular trips up to Grand Forks to watch the Sioux in the old Englestad arena. I've only been to the new arena once, and that was to watch a curling tournament (aka "bonspiel"). What an impressive building. Thanks for posting this picture, it makes me homesick.
