Colors have been slow in changing this fall. Perhaps it was because of all of the tent worms back in the spring?

I wonder if Doug was holding his breath when he snapped this one?

With the looks of the background, it's a wonder he wasn't shaking and shivvvvvering! Especially with the telephoto action.

What a great picture.

But come on now...in another 5 months, we will be saying this temperature is a "hot spell"!!

By The Wild Roof Sledder, da U.P. on Tuesday, September 25, 2001 - 08:59 am:

The tempature is below 40. Winter's comin! It's only a matter of time before The Wild Roof Sledder starts knocking on death's door. Well maybe not that but it'll be close. I can't wait regardless!

It's 80 bloody degrees here in Boulder. What I wouldn't give right now for a week in the cool of the UP...

By Sara, Phx, AZ on Tuesday, September 25, 2001 - 12:05 pm:

105 forecasted here in Phx. They keep teasing us with forecasting the 90's. Haven't seen them yet!
Would love some crisp, cool fall weather- walking and crunching on the leaves right about now.

My kids spent the better part of their summer, checking out their grandparents' garage roof, trying to figure out how they could use it for "roof sledding." They even went so far as to announce that the Miscowaubik Club roof looked like it would give you a great ride. They've started a campaign to go back there this winter so they can test their skills.

I thought I got a pretty good picture when I managed to get a doe and her fleeing fawn by the Calumet Waterworks this summer (only I could see the fawn). Your picture is beautiful.

By Doug Smith Wixom, MI on Tuesday, September 25, 2001 - 09:33 pm:

It was a very cold day when I took this picture. Oh, but I enjoyed it so much. I had a pretty good idea what I was looking to photograph that morning and I waited a long time for all 3 of those deer to get into "position" for me :o)
I love to to go for a hike whenever i can and my camera is always with me.

By sehooker@msn.com on Tuesday, September 25, 2001 - 11:22 pm:

Wow - that is such a pretty picture. Better than all the artists who try to do animals hidden in the trees. I'd like to see what a good water-colorist could do with that.

Absolutely beautiful! It's my new wallpaper until the pasty cam outdoes itself the next time; always does.
