Actually the last couple of days, life has been HOT. Yesterday somebody said it was 99 in Calumet. Even down by the Lake in Eagle River we suffered with 92 degrees and stifling humidity. At least there's a breeze this morning.

Someone pointed out that one year ago today "Cam Notes" first appeared... the ability for Pasty Cam visitors to comment with the pictures. It has been a good way to meet lots of new friends. Our thanks to all who share your memories and observations about life here in Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula.

Great photo! It nice to know the photographer was rewarded. How about a photo of some nice thimbleberries? I can remember many a day in late summer picking them, cleaning them (what a chore that was!) and then making jam. My daughter is very lucky this year as she is experiencing just that while she stays with her Grandma and Grandpa's in Calumet.

Those berries sure look good. Missing the Great Lakes this summer and all the smaller lakes in the UP. There are lakes here, but no sandy beaches. I have many happy memories of summers in the UP when I was growing up. Oh what fun!
