ITS no 6 centenial--I worked there before the shaft house was built--we were raising the bottom of the old shaft up from 9th level till Art Putala was injured barring lose from the high foot jump that we were drilling out while up on a ladder--then we had to drill it out down hill from the bottom of the coller down to where he was injured--BJ Bjorn was injured doing that--a chain broke anchoring a american derrick compressed air scrapping mach an his leg was caught in it when it rolled down the shaft--there were only 3 of us working there then Bjorn,Nibs Spegnottiand me---nibs climbed up to get the gunlaak crew to come help us carry him up--they were working on building that shafthouse then--they came down in the dark--with only nibs having a shinner on his hardhat--think that was 1966--67--tony shuty
