Today in the Student Development Complex at Michigan Technological University, new graduates joined the ranks of 45,000 others who have turned the tassel at Tech. Congratulations to the class of 2001!
Down there on the 9th row on the right is the original Pasty Camiester himself, Jonathan Hopper. It took him a couple of years longer to complete the 4-year BS in Computer Science... mainly because of PASTIES. In the early years of Pasty Central, Jonathan packed all of the orders to be shipped throughout North America, as well as taking the daily Pasty Cam shots. Then, a couple of years ago, others took over the pasty packing, and he became the technical brains behind PastyNET, our high-speed dial-in Internet access for the Keweenaw. Jonathan has agreed to continue in the role of Systems Administrator here at Pasty Central, as we continue to expand our services.
Speaking of expansion, this has been a notable week in the Keweenaw as PastyNET inaugurated ISDN service, for super-fast connections, even in the remote areas of the Peninsula. Our thanks to the new graduate for his ingenuity :o)
