It hasn't been too many hours since there was ice at this spot, so it's gotta be cold. Taka emailed this shot which was taken Saturday, and it captures the feel of the weather in recent days, as well as the fun of being with friends and taking a dare. It reminded me of those wild and crazy guys who took a dip not far from here, back in January.

The last time I was swimming (wading?) at this spot I was maybe 7 or 8 years old. Probably in 1947 or '48. Was living in Paavola at the time. Whooee, how time flies!
