The crocuses are even more beautiful than I remembered. It has been at least 55 years since I've seen one of those beauties. Are they difficult to grow in a garden? I also loved the jack-in-the-pulpit. There are so many beautiful wild flowers in that "neck of the woods". Keep up the good work with the cameras, it brings great joy to many.

Dear emh, Crocuses are very easy to grow. A bulb is planted in late fall and voila! they come up in the spring. Crocus are a perennial so they don't have to be dug up after blooming. What a sight to have them peek out blooming even through the snow. Here in Menominee County we have deep frost and maybe the bulbs require the cold winter. bef

Thank you for that picture. I will print it out for my daughter. She is in the hospital with a brain tumor and wanted flowers, but flowers are not allowed in this ward. I was wondering what to do about that and your photo came up while I was doing a "home check".

I found your website by chance, looking for anything to do with Cornwall (for instance, pasties) and I have been viewing the pictures on the pastycam over the last few days. I just wanted to say I love the site, the pictures are great and I'm sure your pasties are too! I will keep coming back to your site everyday, or as often as I can.

Great Photo Dan!! Here in Detroit, the crocuses have already "croaked". It's nice to see them again.

Now, if only you could find some trailing arbutus...too bad we don't have smell on this as the arbutus has the most heavenly smell in the world...next to the Lilacs.

To Joan: When I was a little girl, my aunt in Traverse City gave me some Trailing Arbutus perfume. She said it smelled like the real thing and I can still remember that it was heavenly! I have a Pasty Cam picture of lilacs from last year (Mackinaw Island I think) pinned up in front of me at work. I really miss lilacs out here in CA. We have a abundance of flowers out here, but there are some in the northern regions that need the cold winters that we simply don't have here...peonies, tulips, forsythia,...the list goes on and on. Some you can get in florist shops, but that isn't the same as having them planted in your garden!

I can remember as a kid in Houghton standing next to the house on snow 2 feet deep looking down at the crocuses that were blooming where the icicle melt/house heat had melted away a strip next to the house.

Fred from Germany's daughter's name is Sophia. Please pray for her, she is only 8 years old.
