The sun didn't show up for numerous sunrise services today in the Keweenaw. Temps began to fall as the rain came down - soon it was snow. For just a brief moment, winter was back.

You may recall a Pasty Cam visit to Central a couple of years ago. You can always return, you know.

As I type these words from Eagle River, the snow has turned back into rain. Sure makes it hard to find Easter eggs.

I try to visit the Central location when I am back in the UP--don't know quite what it is, but there is a draw. Love that old church. I know my high school English teacher, Elizabeth Vivian, used to attend special services there at least once a year. I have pictures of some of the old houses there, one of which is very dear to me. If I can find it in my stack of one gazillion "photos in the shoebox" I would like to share it with you.

We just returned to Flint from Calumet this evening so we understand about your difficulty in finding any Easter eggs today. When we left today about 11 am, it was snowing furiously and we feared we were going to have a very difficult trip. But, by the time we reached Houghton the snow had become rain. Our reason for this communication though is to express our appreciation for today's big picture which we feel epitomizes one of the things that keeps us coming back after more than 30 years. Jon has outdone himself today! Thank you again.

P.S. Our Calumet tulips are peeking through the remaining snow in our yard. They are up to 5 inches tall! Spring is on the way folks!

What better picture for Easter than Central's "Ghost" Town church. That must have been one interesting community back in the late 19th century.

Spent some time in the camp with the white shudders. Remember well the deer seasons with Matt Fink, Ed Rozman and my dad Charlie.

anyone have any info on the Schuler's who lived in Central. Their house is still standing, it has a sign saying Pierce Schuler. Peter was my Great Great Grandfather.
