Morning is my favorite time of day. This morning in particular was very pleasant here in Keweenaw-land, as the weather was calm and temperatures rising. It was made even better by an email from Marlin Wenberg, who had this nice shot from Dollar Bay. It looked much the same here in Eagle River.

Marlin is among our PastyNET dial-in members in the Copper Country, who enjoy fast connections to the web (with our "no busy signal" guarantee) while helping to support the work of Still Waters in Calumet. That connection is enabling me to type these words right now. My personal thanks to our growing family of PastyNET folks, who help make this service possible.

And speaking of Keweenaw-land... Today a new domain is launching here at Pasty Central: "KeweenawLand.com", devoted to information exchange about Land Use Planning in Keweenaw. Janet Shea maintains the site, in addition to her duties as webmistress of CopperHarbor.org.

We are blessed to be surrounded by so many energetic, caring people here in the land of snow and pasties. Welcome to the neighborhood!

I thought the internet was a pretty worthless place until I ran across your sight on the search enginea few weeks ago.

Thanks for such an inviting destination every day. Almost like being there. Looks like you sold a ton of pasties, too, if those numbers are for real.

Thank you for continuing to share such wonderful glimpses of home. Today's picture of Dollar Bay is especially beautiful to me, since I spent a lot of my childhood at my Grandma and Grandpa's house in Dollar Bay (Woodside). The Copper Country is still the grandest place on earth. I look forward to checking each day to see your new picture, as well as to check on the snowfall total. The pictures bring back fond memories of growing up in such a special place. Thanks again!

Nice picture Marlin!!!....

I went to my first real birthday party at the house on the right. Laura Lee was 2 yrs old on Feb. 26, 195?. My brother walked me to the corner and her brother took me the rest of the way. Been friends ever since. Thanks for the memory.

Hey Unlce Marlin,

Nice picture!! I sure don't miss all of that snow, but that's a real pretty glimpse of sky, and we don't see much of either in Manhattan.

Nice shot Marlin! And, Thank You from the bottom of my heart for helping to keep that driveway open so that blue car could be parked safe and sound every day! When that Houghton County Road Commission's Grader comes through, they make a real mess in one's driveway, and Marlin with his big heart and his plow surely did help out this winter! I do appreciate all you have done! Thanks again!

<Charlie>: Recently Donna sent me a link which can turn our Pasty Cam "Big Pictures" into jigsaw puzzles! Try it for yourself:

Is this the same Marlin I used to work with along with Mike Issacson (sp) as student janitors at DBHS. Great picture, I remember pulling a sled up and down all of the streets in Dollar Bay on Sundays loaded down with the Sunday "Chicago Tribune". Had fun with you and "Pastry"!! Hope to see you in the near future

Hi, My father was born in Dollar Bay in 1905, His name was Ray Martin. The Martin family consisted of 5 boys,Rudy,Roy, Ray, and Robert and Ralph also there were twin sisters named Inga and Sigrid. My grandpa and grandma`s names were Elizabeth and Sedolph. I believe most of the family went to Detroit except for Inga who lived there until her death in the sixties maybe.
