When our kids were growing up, in our travels across the U.P. and elsewhere around the country, they would see the big hay rolls in the field and say, "Look at the big Shredded Wheat!". I suppose they do look like a Paul Bunyan size Nabisco cereal... and this bowlful spotted by Dan Urbanski is covered with plenty of sugar and milk.

Just now posting the big picture, I notice something in the upstairs window of the old house. Wonder if it's the same phenomenon John Dee captured for the Pasty Cam last fall?

Oh my gosh, I was being watched! Can a ghost
arrest for trespassing?

I didn't notice until now the tracks leading to
the hay. Looks like Bambi was trespassing, too!

a ghost from an upper peninsula winters past? sometimes harsh, winter wonderland. pioneer days. the old homestead. two horses in every barn. hay burners are in the barn but a woodstove is in the kitchen. shredded wheat i'll save for warmer times, right now i believe i'll have another bowl of hot oatmeal. keep on with the great photos of the u.p.

this should show all the doubters that winter isn't all shades of grey. It is as colorful as any other season, you just have to look harder.
Thanks to Dan for looking for us

HEY! Thank you! I grew up in Paynesville. A picture of Bruce Crossing (any picture of BC) is wonderful!
