No one can match the paintbrush of our creator.
Thank you JESUS. Thanks Steve for catching the beauty of it.

shot! Beautiful photos as always.

I would have to vote this picture as being the best so far this year. Awesome beauty.

By Doug,Wixom MI on Thursday, February 15, 2001 - 02:35 pm:

How I would have loved to be there and experience this personally, just to hear the roar of the lake. What a magnificent picture. Simply Awesome!

By Alice, Ventura, CA on Thursday, February 15, 2001 - 04:16 pm:

I hate to appear stupid, but can you tell me exactly what we are looking at? I recognize that some of it may be clouds??? but is that the waves on the Lake breaking on the left side? Or is what looks like clouds the splash/mist from the waves. Also, not being there makes me not sure if everything is still frozen. Thanks!

By Alice, Ventura, CA on Thursday, February 15, 2001 - 04:18 pm:

Oh, and it IS beautiful!! I also like Sunday, February 11th.

By Tim, NE on Thursday, February 15, 2001 - 05:11 pm:

Incredible! This picture will be around for a while, at least in my collection! What power! I love nature, and things like this remind me of the incredible forces it posesses. It reminds me of a picture on my website of a wave crashing into a cliff on Lake Superior. It's so huge and powerful I could hardly believe it was real.
Glory be to God for His awesome creation!!!!'

Wow! I have a feeling this will be my wallpaper for a long time! It would have to something unbelievable to replace it. Thanks for my daily "fix" of my favorite place on earth!

By Jean Mi. on Thursday, February 15, 2001 - 08:00 pm:

Steve Brimm please fill us in on what we are seeing. Beautiful but I would like your explanation of what we are seeing. Thanks for showing us what this wild and beautiful place looks like in the winter.

By Mary Ann, WY on Thursday, February 15, 2001 - 09:34 pm:

What a great photo, Steve!

By S Brimm on Thursday, February 15, 2001 - 11:10 pm:

Large waves coming from the left side of the picture are breaking on a ice covered shore on the right. The dark object in the bottom middle is part of the rock shore that is not covered with ice. The whole picture is enveloped in spray from breaking waves and wind driven snow.

I was more than a little bit ice covered myself!

Dan U and I were going to do a little Kayaking, but we didn't see any challenge;^)

Steve

Thanks, Steve for the explanation. Now that I know, I can look at it with even more amazement and wonder! A little Kayaking in this weather would have to be for sissies!

Words alone can not describe the beauty of this photograph. One can only appreciate the world we live in.

By Rose - Channahon, IL on Friday, February 16, 2001 - 04:19 pm:

Fantastic, Steve! I had to come back and check to see what everyone had to say about this picture and found my daughter Rose from Mokena has this picture on her wallpaper too! It is amazing how often we each have the same bit of Keweenaw heaven on our wallpaper without knowing the other one has it too!

By Dawn Marmor, Enterprise, OR on Friday, February 16, 2001 - 10:14 pm:

I'm surprised this shot didn't win the WOW. I sure said "WOW!"

That is such an awesome picture. I too can imagine the sound of the waves crashing. I do love the water, expecially the waves. Thanks for such a beautiful picture. It's going on as my wallpaper. I do love Michigan, God did such a good job with it...

We have traveled to the Keeweenaw two times this winter with the third trip planned real soon. Each visit we see amazing beauty, it truely is God's Country. We fell in love with this place in the summer, but find it absolutely breathtaking in the winter. What a wonderful experience!!! The eight hour drive is definately worth it!!!

By Karen, TX on Saturday, March 31, 2001 - 09:36 am:
